Book Design:
Curiouser & Curiouser

Accordion-style exhibition catalogue for the photography exhibition Curiouser & Curiouser: A Visual Back and Forth at the Luther W. Brady Art Gallery, Corcoran School of the Arts + Design at the George Washington University.

The title was taken from Lewis Carroll’s Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland, and included a quote from the book about a journey that paralleled the one taken by the students and curator as they created the visual conversation that became the exhibition.

The graphics are a clean and modern take on “down the rabbit hole” with circular graphics and tabs on the photo pages assuring that users follow the correct order while unfolding the book. The addition of small arrows also serve as cues to unfolding the “visual back and forth” between the GW Collection and the student photographers creating their responses.

The catalogue was printed by Brilliant Graphics, Exton, PA, whose team worked with us to construct a layout that would allow the conversation to continue uninterrupted and refold into a tidy package.
